Chopr’s dad, Ole, is a native of Norway where robotic mowers have overtaken residential mowing for some time. In 2015 the Rygg family moved into their new house in the Summerwood Addition in Dilworth. With a larger yard they had to decide – should they get a riding or robotic mower? The choice was simple, and the kids quickly named the new addition to the family “Chopr.” The running joke was that Chopr would marry Clarissa, the name of the family Roomba… Having enjoyed the awesome work of Chopr for five years, and having run through all the testing four kids, the neighbor’s kids, backyard parties, dogs and other pets can create, we decided it was time to share the freedom of automatic mowing with friends, family and people in our neighborhood. So Chopr the company was formed.
